Live copy and paste

Copy and paste a live call transcript in real time

The best moment to use what someone said is right after they say it. Call Transcriber turns your call into text as it happens and lets you copy exactly the part you need with one click or one shortcut, without leaving the app you are working in.

Why copying during the call matters

Typing notes while someone talks splits your attention: you either listen well or you write well. Recordings and after-call summaries help later, but they don't help while the customer is still on the line waiting for your answer.

With a live transcript you can copy from, the details are already written down for you. You stay in the conversation, and when you need something, it's one keystroke away:

  • A customer reads out an order number: press Ctrl+Alt+T and paste it into the order system.
  • A prospect explains their requirements: copy the last 10 lines into the CRM opportunity before you move on.
  • A colleague agrees on a deadline in a meeting: paste the exact sentence into the team chat so nobody remembers it differently.
  • A candidate gives a great answer: select it and add it to your interview scorecard with the timestamp.
"Could you repeat that?" becomes "Got it, I've noted it", and you never broke eye contact.

What you can copy

Every option works from the buttons in the app. The most common ones also work as global shortcuts, even when Call Transcriber is hidden behind your call app.

Their last message

Just the text of what the other person said last, ready to paste into a form or reply. Shortcut Ctrl+Alt+T.

The last 5, 10 or N lines

The recent back-and-forth with names and times. Ctrl+Alt+5 and Ctrl+Alt+0, or pick any number.

The whole call so far

Everything from the start of the call, for a full note or to paste into an AI assistant for a summary. Ctrl+Alt+A.

Exactly the lines you select

Ctrl+click or Shift+click lines, then press Ctrl+C. Or right-click a line to copy it, or everything from there to the end.

Only them, only you, or both

One filter controls every copy: include just the other person's lines, just yours, or the full conversation.

Your format

Turn timestamps and speaker names on or off. Change any shortcut, or turn it off, in Settings.

What a copy looks like

With timestamps and names on (the default), "Last 5 lines" gives you clean, readable text that pastes well anywhere:

[00:03:51] Sarah: We need the integration live before the 14th of next month.
[00:03:58] Me: Understood. Which systems does it have to connect to?
[00:04:03] Sarah: Salesforce and our billing tool. Budget is approved up to 18,500 dollars.
[00:04:12] Me: Got it. Do you need single sign-on from day one?
[00:04:20] Sarah: Yes, SSO with Okta, and weekly reports for the finance team.

"Their last message" gives just the words: Yes, SSO with Okta, and weekly reports for the finance team.

The copy bar at the bottom of Call Transcriber: Copy all, Last 5, Last 10, Last N, last message and Selected

Works with the tools you already use

There's nothing to connect or authorise: copying uses the normal Windows clipboard, so it works with every app that accepts text. People paste their live transcript into CRMs such as Salesforce and HubSpot, help desks such as Zendesk and Freshdesk, notes in OneNote, Notion and Google Docs, chats in Slack and Teams, email, spreadsheets, and AI assistants for a quick summary.

Tip: Turn on "Keep on top" and compact mode, and Call Transcriber sits as a small strip next to your call, so you can glance at the transcript and copy without switching windows.

Questions about live copy and paste

What can I copy during a call?

The whole conversation so far, the last 5, 10 or any number of lines, the lines you select, or only the other person's last message. You choose whether timestamps and names are included.

Do the shortcuts work when the Call Transcriber window is hidden?

Yes. Global shortcuts such as Ctrl+Alt+A (copy all) and Ctrl+Alt+T (other person's last message) work from any app, even when the window is minimised to the tray. You can change them in Settings.

Can I copy only what the customer said, not my own words?

Yes. Set the copy filter to "Only Them" and every copy button includes just the other person's lines.
